English 112: Literature Appreciation

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Your child is enrolled in English 112: Literature Appreciation, a North Country Community College Bridge Course (NCCC).  This is a college level course offered through Lake Placid High School.  Upon successful completion of the course, your child will receive  .5 credit at LPHS and receive three (3) credits from North Country Community College; these credits can be transferred to State University of New York schools and some private institutions.

Students enrolled in English 112: Literature Appreciation will be expected to follow an attendance policy that complies with NCCC.  Students are able to miss ten (10) class periods and still pass the course to receive the three (3) credits from NCCC.  Once a student is absent for more than ten class periods, he or she will forfeit the course fee and credit from NCCC.  At this time, however, the student may still pass the course and gain credit from Lake Placid Central School.
